Wonder Makers

Free Play Design System

After a Fisher-Price team member had the idea and developed initial rough prototypes with items around his house, Fisher-Price looked to Zukun to help further develop concepts for a free play design system. Several rounds of exploration and refinement resulted in a visual direction for Wonder Makers— a breakthrough low-tech toy of the year.

Natural materials, a refined color palette and thoughtfully designed form factors make Wonder Makers a toy worthy of hours of attention and imaginative play. The flexibility of the building blocks allow for older kids to stay interested while the friendly forms and lack of small parts make Wonder Makers appropriate for younger children as well. With several building kits to choose from and compatibility to mix and match, kids can keep growing the little towns they build over time. The play sets feature educational themes and destinations, with a post office and recycling center.

We are always thrilled to contribute to the development of design skills in the next generation, and toys are a wonderful way to do that!
